The SPRING season is upon us!

Many of us are fortunate to have the luxuries and comforts that we can often take for granted. Unfortunately, there are too many people in our city who face food insecurity. This past year has been especially difficult for many in our communities.

From job losses and evictions, the economic impacts of COVID-19 have yet to be fully realized. And while we have all been affected by the pandemic, our neighbours from historically marginalized communities and those already living in poverty have been hit the hardest.

After our 2020 Holiday food drive being such a success, we’ve decided to organize another East Side Food Drive in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank and we need your help!

We, along with Daily Bread Food Bank, believe that access to food is a basic human right, not a privilege. No one should go hungry or face barriers to accessing food.

If you live on the East Side of Toronto and want to help, here are the most-needed food items:

· Peanut butter
· Dried Pasta
· Canned Fruit
· Canned Soup
· Rice
· Oatmeal
· Beans (lentils, chickpeas, etc.)
· Pasta Sauce
· Canned fish (tuna in water)
· 100% Fruit Juices
· Canned Vegetables
· Baby Food/Formula

While it may be tempting to simply clean out your cupboards, please check expiry dates and only include non-perishable foods.
